The Granville Historical Society has begun our Annual Fund Drive and would greatly welcome your support. Last year, the Annual Fund was a remarkable success, enabling us to hire an Executive Director for the first time in out history.
This year our goals are:
1. COMPLETE PHASE ONE FOR THE REFURBISHMENT OF OUR MUSEUM IN ANTICIPATION OF THE 250TH ANNIVERSARY OF OUR NATION IN 2026.
Next year will be Year One of a two-year plan to complete a comprehensive facelift of our museum exhibit spaces. In this first year, we will meet with design specialists to reenvision our spaces to feature self interpretative displays and storyboards that merge multi-media technology with visual narrative and display of artifacts.
We have meaningful stories to tell. By considering how we tell our stories, we will be able to increase our Museum open hours for increased visitors. Some features will be installed during the year and the redesign completed in Phase Two in 2025, in time for the nation’s birthday celebration.
2. REFRESH THE MUSEUM GARDENS
We want to refresh the museum gardens by partnering with a local landscape designer and schools to refresh the gardens by removing invasive plants, introducing native plants, and showcasing our historic Granville Rose.
3. MEET GENERAL OPERATING EXPENSES AND THE KNOWN AND UNEXPECTED NEEDS OF OUR MISSION.
One unique need, for example, is to replace the small, wobbly meeting table to better serve the needs of a growing membership.
