Keep an Eye Out!
Over the last two weeks...
We're in the home stretch!
Project Manager Charlie Williams installed custom made wooden brackets for the glass shelves. These will allow for window displays in the two front windows of the Museum. A timer will activate lights at dusk and for a few hours after dark to "open" the Museum to passersby.
It's taken many hands to move heavy pieces around for construction, painting, and carpeting. Here, Charlie gets help from Tod Frolking and Jack Schmidt to move the 1950s kitchen stove.
All three oak cabinets are refinished with new LED lighting to display our amazing exhibits!
All new carpeting was professionally installed.
Can you help us?
When the call goes out, members step up. We have received donations for a love seat and two upholstered chairs for a new visitor gathering place as well as a donation of fabric and labor for valences in the new kitchen exhibit space. Thank you to George and Nannette Maciejunes, Larry and Heidi Drake, and Beverly Kerr for your generosity.
Here's what we still need:
An 85 inch smart television for the Robinson Room to display videos of Granville's history. The approximate purchase price with a mounting bracket is $1,000.
A small desk-sized table for the new lobby where volunteers welcome visitors, start the tours, and handle sales from the bookstore. We would be interested in a table donation or the approximate purchase price of $900 and we have one selected and waiting for purchase.
If you would like to donate either of these, please contact the Refresh Committee Chair, Evelyn Frolking at charleswebsterbryant@gmail.com or call her at 740-587-3515.
Thank you! We're in the home stretch!
