Join us as Tom Hankins presents a talk on planning for the USA’s Semiquincentennial Celebration.
It’s not too early to start thinking about the USA’s semiquincentennial celebration in 2026, which will mark the nation’s 250th anniversary. Tom Hankins of Granville, a history buff who is a Revolutionary War re-enactor and member of the Sons of the American Revolution, will present a program titled “The USA’s Semiquincentennial Celebration” on Wednesday, April 19, at 7 p.m. in the Granville Historical Society’s Robinson Research Center.
He will discuss his role as a member of the Ohio Semiquincentennial Commission that is promoting the national observance, cover the commission’s role in the observance, and say a bit about why it was formed. He will also discuss how communities and local organizations can participate in the celebrating including how to relate local history that is meaningful to the anniversary.
Members of local organizations that may be making plans for the occasion are urged to attend.
