Thoreau Brown Bag Lunch Set for Robinson Meeting Room
As part of the series of events planned by the Granville Library, Henry David Thoreau, as portrayed by Dr. Kevin Radaker, will join Historical Society members and guests for a Brown Bag Lunch at noon on Friday, May 19, in the Robinson Research Center meeting room. Radaker’s topic will be “Thoreau on Slavery and the Conscience.” The meeting is free and open to the public; just bring your lunch.
Several other events are part of the Thoreau bicentennial celebration. The main event is the presentation by Dr. Radaker at 1 p.m. on Saturday, May 20, in the First Presbyterian Church. “Thoreau’s Passion for the Wild and the Wilderness” will be at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 18, in the Library and “Come Alive! Chautauqua Jr. at Wildwood Park” will be from 6:30 to 8 p.m. on Friday, May 19, at Wildwood Park.
